Since 1974, the Historic Natchez Foundation has worked to preserve and tell the full story of Natchez. This work includes stimulating development through the rehabilitation of historic properties in multiple ways. Numerous property owners have utilized historic tax credits to enhance the vitality of Natchez’s historic buildings with assistance from the Foundation. The Foundation also acquires endangered historic sites in order to save them: the most recent being the Prentiss Club, a landmark that faced demolition after a devastating fire.

These pictures illustrate a few of these projects. It is through individual memberships and donations that the Foundation has been able to save these important places and others. The year 2020 has created new challenges for many organizations, including the Historic Natchez Foundation. Today, #GivingTuesday, is an opportunity to support the organizations that mean the most to you. You can support the Historic Natchez Foundation by renewing your membership or making a one-time charitable donation. You can give on Facebook, at Natchez.org, or in-person.
