Temple B'nai Israel, home to the historic Jewish community of Natchez, Mississippi, has launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise much-needed funds for their ongoing restoration and preservation efforts. the temple is a central part of the Natchez community but is facing ongoing financial challenges that put it at risk of falling into disrepair. The Temple B'nai Israel Board of Overseers, in partnership with the Goldring/Woldenberg Institute of Southern Jewish Life (ISJL), seeks $150,000 to match a Community Heritage Preservation Grant from the Mississippi Department of Archives and History that will see the complete replacement of the building's outdated, century-old electrical system and the installation of the much-needed fire suppression system.

Temple B'nai Israel is not just a vision of the past. The synagogue stands as a testament to Natchez's diversity and is poised to play a central role in Natchez's vibrant arts and tourism economy in the 21st century. The temple is perfect for music, theatre, lectures, conferences, exhibits, and community events.
